Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Drop a Prom Themed Video for "Talk"

On May 2, 2025, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco unveiled the music video for their collaborative single "Talk," a standout track from the deluxe edition of their debut joint album, I Said I Love You First… And You Said It Back. The release, accompanied by the deluxe album drop, has sparked excitement among fans, blending a prom-themed visual with the couple’s signature chemistry. The video, directed by Tony Yacenda, captures a playful and intimate behind-the-scenes look at Blanco surprising Gomez with her first prom experience, a rite of passage she missed due to her early career.

The "Talk" video showcases Gomez, 32, in a purple gown with black tights and a furry coat, while Blanco, 37, dons a classic black tuxedo. The couple’s prom adventure includes a rented limo, a cheesy mall photoshoot, and dancing in a high school gymnasium to complete the vision. The track itself, which interpolates Cake’s 1998 hit “Never There,” features Gomez’s sultry vocals longing for her partner, with lyrics like, “I’ma call you daddy ’cause I know you like that / Go recharge your batteries, come back to me.”

Initially teased on Gomez’s Instagram in February 2025 and featured in an iPhone 16e commercial, "Talk" was released as a webstore exclusive on March 24 before hitting streaming platforms with the deluxe album. The album, which chronicles Gomez and Blanco’s romance from friendship to engagement, includes new tracks like “Stained” and collaborations with GloRilla and Cigarettes After Sex. Since its March 21 debut, I Said I Love You First has even charted in the top 10 across multiple countries, earning praise from fans for its emotional depth.

Gomez and Blanco, engaged since December 2024, have described the album as a celebration of their journey. “These songs represent our past, present, and future,” Gomez shared on Instagram. And as they continue their musical and personal partnership, “Talk” definitely feels like a track worthy of a musically inclined couple.
