Digimon Alysion Launches Closed Beta Application

Following the momentum of Digimon’s 25th anniversary celebration, BANDAI CARD GAMES has officially launched the application window for the closed beta test of Digimon Alysion, a new mobile game that brings the beloved Digimon Card Game to smartphones for the first time. The closed beta is open to 10,000 players worldwide and will run during August 2025 on both Android and iOS devices.

Initially unveiled during Digimon Con 2025 this past March, Digimon Alysion marks a major step forward for the franchise’s digital expansion. The game will be free to play with optional in-app purchases and is based on the competitive mechanics of the Digimon Card Game, which has steadily grown in popularity since its launch and is now available in four languages across the globe.

The mobile app allows players to build custom decks, select their favorite Digimon, and battle opponents in real-time matches. While the gameplay is rooted in the trading card experience fans already know, Digimon Alysion will introduce brand-new characters and Digimon, along with original storylines and fresh “digivolution” paths not seen in any previous entries.

Set in the same universe as the “Digimon Liberator” comic and novel, Alysion expands the lore of the franchise while giving longtime fans and newcomers alike a way to connect with Digimon in an entirely new format. It also provides a digital alternative to the physical card game, giving players on-the-go access to the competitive world of Digimon battles.

The closed beta test, according to BANDAI CARD GAMES, is an essential phase in development. In addition to evaluating game systems and server performance, the company hopes to gather focused feedback from participants to fine-tune the user experience ahead of launch. If interest exceeds the 10,000 player cap, testers will be selected via lottery.

Applications are open now and will close on Sunday, August 3 at 1:59 AM UTC. Interested players can apply via the official website.

No official release date has been announced—but updates will be posted through the game’s website and social media channels. For now, fans can follow along on Instagram (@digimon_alysion), Facebook, or X (@DIGIMON_ALYSION).
