Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival Brings the Franchise to Terrifying New Life
For the first time in its decades-long legacy, Hellraiser is getting a fully realized video game treatment from Saber Interactive. Titled Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, the newly announced survival horror experience promises to deliver the nightmarish tension, seductive dread, and brutal atmosphere fans expect—this time, in playable form.
Gameplay Details
Hellraiser: Revival is a first-person, single-player survival horror game that casts players as Aidan, a man who descends into a shifting, hellish dimension to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny. Armed with a mysterious puzzle box known as the Genesis Configuration, players will face cultists, twisted monstrosities, and the iconic Cenobites themselves.
The gameplay will blend ranged and melee combat with supernatural abilities granted by the puzzle box. Environmental puzzles, shifting architecture, and psychological horror all play a role in making the experience unpredictable and dread-filled. According to early footage, players won’t just be fighting for survival—they’ll be unearthing long-buried lore tied to Clive Barker’s original mythology.
Return of a Horror Icon
Doug Bradley returns to voice the legendary Pinhead, bringing a chilling gravitas that links this new chapter directly to the roots of the franchise. His presence cements Revival as the most faithful Hellraiser adaptation to date. Clive Barker himself is also involved, lending creative input and calling it the “first true Hellraiser game.”
Hellraiser: Revival Platforms
While no official release date has been announced yet, Hellraiser: Revival is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A full gameplay reveal and release window are expected later this year.
With a narrative-driven approach, immersive horror mechanics, and direct involvement from Barker and Bradley, Hellraiser: Revival could redefine what licensed horror games can be. For fans of the grotesque and the divine, this may be the most exciting Hellraiser project in decades.
