Peacemaker Season 2 Intro Continues its Quirky Streak of Choreographed Chaos
Peacemaker’s second season, which premiered August 21, 2025, on HBO Max, introduced another eccentric opening dance sequence set to “Oh Lord” by Foxy Shazam, replacing Season 1’s viral “Do Ya Wanna Taste It” by Wig Wam. Choreographed by Charissa Barton and directed by James Gunn, the 105-second intro retains the show’s deadpan humor while showcasing a few oddly intricate moves and a larger ensemble.
The sequence features John Cena as Peacemaker, leading Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, and Steve Agee as Economos. Newcomers include Tim Meadows as ARGUS agent Langston Fleury, Sol Rodriguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, an eagle hunter targeting Peacemaker’s sidekick, Eagly. David Denman appears as Keith Smith, Peacemaker’s late brother from an alternate dimension, dressed as Captain Triumph. And of course, the choreography culminates in a chaotic pile-up, with Eagly perched atop.
Season 2 follows Christopher Smith navigating a global crisis sparked by Lex Luthor’s dimensional rift in Superman (2025). A.R.G.U.S. targets dimensional threats, putting Peacemaker on the run for killing Rick Flag Jr. in The Suicide Squad. The Quantum Unfolding Chamber in his closet drives conflict with Rick Flag Sr., who seeks revenge. The season explores Chris’s growth, confronting trauma in an alternate dimension where he’s a celebrated hero alongside his brother and father, contrasting his real-world struggles. With eight weekly episodes, the series is expected to bring its familiar action, humor, and heart, integrating into the DCU under Gunn and Peter Safran’s vision. And with the season in full swing, Peacemaker is finally back to remind audiences why he’s their favorite niche DC character.
