The Television Academy’s 77th Primetime Emmys (Sept. 14) delivered a clean sweep of headline categories and a couple of history-making moments. HBO/Max’s hospital drama The Pitt took Drama Series, Apple TV+’s The Studio set a single-season record for a comedy, and Netflix’s Adolescence converted the buzziest limited-series campaign of the year. And yes—The Penguin landed the marquee acting win that many were hoping for.
