Peacemaker Season 2 Teases New Chaos, Action, and Antics

DC Studios and Max dropped the first teaser trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, confirming its premiere on August 21, 2025, with eight weekly episodes. The John Cena-led action-comedy, created by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn, picks up where Season 1 left off, transitioning Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, into the rebooted DC Universe (DCU) while maintaining most of its established canon from The Suicide Squad (2021) and Peacemaker Season 1 (2022). And the teaser, brimming with absurd violence, crude humor, and heart, reminds audiences what they fell for in the first place.

The footage opens with Peacemaker interviewing for a superhero team with connections to the broader DCU, likely the Justice Gang, alongside Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner (Green Lantern), Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, and Sean Gunn’s Maxwell Lord, all set to appear in the Superman film (slated for July 11, 2025). However, the interview goes poorly, highlighting Peacemaker’s struggle to be seen as a legitimate hero.

This time around, a major plotline centers on Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr., now head of A.R.G.U.S., seeking vengeance for his son Rick Flag Jr.’s death at Peacemaker’s hands in The Suicide Squad. Grillo, who voiced Flag Sr. in Creature Commandos (2024), now brings a somewhat sympathetic antagonist, forcing Peacemaker to confront his bloody past. A surprising twist also reveals a second Peacemaker from a pocket dimension, sparking fan theories about multiverse elements or impostors like Clayface, but at this point—who knows!

Returning cast members include Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Steve Agee as John Economos, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith (likely in flashbacks), and Nhut Le as Judomaster, with Peacemaker’s eagle sidekick, Eagly, stealing scenes and a spot on the official poster. New additions to the series include Tim Meadows as A.R.G.U.S. agent Langston Fleury, David Denman, and Sol Rodriguez.
