Upon debut, the dynamic five-member rookie K-pop girl group HITGS hoped to convey a spirited blend of bold creativity and relatable, youthful storytelling through music. The group’s lead track, “SOURPATCH” perfectly achieved this shared goal, pulsing with a groovy 808 bass and bubbly lyrics that capture the thrill of young love—while their other track, “Never Be Me” offered listeners quirky pop energy with a catchy, confident edge.

Despite their status as rookies, the group’s versatile approach to music embodies veteran-level talent, where SEOJIN shines as a fierce rapper and dancer, SEOHEE commands with vocal prowess, HYERIN radiates as the group’s focal point, IYOO energizes as the lively maknae and dancer, and VV enchants with her melodic voice and captivating presence.

Now, committed to celebrating life’s cherished moments, HITGS officially invites fans into a journey of genuine connection and unforgettable artistry.

Each of you brings a unique role to HITGS! How do your individual strengths come together to define HITGS’s group dynamic?

Seojin: HITGS stands for “HIP INNOCENT TEENAGER GIRLS STORY,” representing the stories of hip and pure teenage girls. I'm Seojin, the mood maker and energy booster of HITGS!

Hyerin: I'm Hyerin, the one with the lovely visuals that’ll make you fall for HITGS at first sight!

Seohee: I’m Seohee, the vitamin of HITGS, always full of bright energy.

Iyoo: Hi, I’m Iyoo, the entrance fairy of HITGS—I'm the reason you'll keep thinking about us all day!

VV: I'm VV, the Barbie of HITGS with doll-like visuals.

The concept of Things we love : H revolves around celebrating both the big and small things that make life special. What’s one ‘small thing’ in your life that you love, and how did it influence your approach to this debut?

VV: Jelly. When I was struggling or things weren’t going well during practice, eating jelly gave me strength. It’s small, but it meant a lot to me.

SEOJIN: The time and memories I poured into chasing my dream of becoming an idol are what I cherish the most. Focusing on what was precious to me helped me keep going—and ultimately led to my debut.

SEOHEE: My family and close friends. Their encouragement and support gave me the strength I needed and became a major source of motivation as I prepared for my debut.

HYERIN: Support. The cheers and encouragement I received gave me strength and continue to push me forward.

IYOO: A message from my family. When they told me, “We’re always cheering you on,” it gave me so much strength. Those words helped me stand back up, and made this album feel even more special.

Your group aims to build a collection of stories through your music. What story do you hope Things we love : H tells about who HITGS is at this moment?

Seojin: This debut album is full of the things teenagers love. It’s honest, youthful, and captures our emotions in a very real way.

Iyoo: With our debut album we are also showcasing the emotions of teenage girls falling in love.

Your first single, “SOURPATCH” has such a vibrant energy to it—when you listen to it now, is there something about the track that you’re particularly proud of accomplishing?

Seohee: I had a lot of vocal lines, so it felt like a lot of pressure at first. But I’m proud of how much I grew through the recording process.

Hyerin: It was hard to figure out the right tone, but our director guided us really well. I ended up enjoying it a lot and am proud of how the song came out!

Your track “Never Be Me” takes a slower approach, showing a nuanced side of HITGS. What’s something you brought to the song that you weren’t able to explore in “SOURPATCH”?

Seohee: It’s a track that contrasts with SOURPATCH and shows a more honest, teenage side of HITGS. Please focus on the vocals!

VV: I think it’s a song that reveals a different charm of HITGS—it’s more in tune with our teenage spirit and honest emotions.

Your debut also comes with a pre-debut documentary series and exclusive web variety shows. How has sharing your journey through these platforms helped you connect with fans, and what do you hope they learn about HITGS through these projects?

SEOJIN: I’m happy that we’ve been able to share HITGS’s journey with our fans from the very beginning. I hope everyone gets to see the chemistry between our members.

SEOHEE: I think the content helped us feel closer to our fans, and through it, I hope they can see how much we truly wanted this and how hard we worked for it.

HYERIN: Since it shows how much effort we put in before our debut, I think fans will feel like they’re growing alongside us. I also think it will help them see just how much we’ve worked toward debuting as HITGS!

HITGS has expressed a desire to become one of the “small things” fans love. What are some of the ideal ways you hope to build a strong, lasting relationship with your fandom?

VV: I want to be like a friend to our fans—someone they can share happy and sad moments with. Just like a longtime friend, I hope we can be together for a long time.

SEOJIN: I hope HITGS becomes a group that works hard for our fans and shares a relationship where love and support go both ways.

SEOHEE: I want us to keep communicating consistently with our fans, building a relationship based on mutual respect and encouragement.

HYERIN: I hope we can be a source of healing for each other—both us and our fans.

IYOO: Whenever our fans are going through tough times, I hope HITGS’s music and presence can offer even a small sense of comfort. I want us to be like a close friend who’s always by their side.

Looking ahead, HITGS aims to grow as both a group and as individuals while showcasing different sides of your charm. Where do you see yourselves in a year, and what kind of impact do you hope to make in K-pop by then?

VV: I want to show cool and diverse styles. I hope that when people see HITGS, it lifts their spirits and makes them feel happy.

SEOJIN: I want to bring bright energy and a positive message to K-pop. A year from now, I hope I’ve become a true professional idol.

SEOHEE: A year from now, I hope HITGS can bring more people happiness, inspiration, and bright energy. I want us to become a group that comes to mind when people think of K-pop. As for me personally, I hope to sing songs that bring joy and hope to many. We may be rookies now, but I hope I’ll be one step closer to becoming a truly great artist.

HYERIN: I’m sure I’ll still face challenges and moments of doubt even a year from now, but I believe I’ll be growing and achieving things together with my members. I want HITGS to be a group that people think of when they think of K-pop—a group that helps spread K-pop around the world.

IYOO: I want to be remembered as a shining presence in K-pop. A year from now, I believe I’ll be showing everyone how much I’ve grown.
